San Marzano has been famous worldwide for its incredibly flavourful variety of tomatoes that grows in our soil.

In Italy, we consider preparation to be the final ingredient in any dish. Our cooking method, "50 minutes Lento & Stirred" is the oldest in the world: each sauce is simmered slowly ("lento," as we say in Italy) over low heat and stir, stir, stirred without stopping. This method celebrates every ingredient and creates the perfect balance of flavors.

San Marzano is the small town where the magic happens. It's our home, where both our family and company were born.
Many of you ask, "Do you use authentic San Marzano Tomatoes?" when we answer yes to that you often follow up with "Then why aren't your products DOP?".
Here's the scoop:
San Marzano tomatoes are plum-shaped, fleshy, and vibrant red in color. They have been cultivated for centuries exclusively in the southern region of Italy, renowned for their sweetness and rich flavor.
The DOP, Protected Designation of Origin, certification only applied to San Marzano tomatoes cultivated in that small region known as the "Agro Sarnese-Nocerino."
However, the tomatoes grown in that area are not fundamentally different in taste and characteristics from plum tomatoes cultivated in other, larger, and closer regions of southern Italy, where the majority of our fields are located.
So, what you'll find in our "La San Marzano" sauces is this typical Southern Italian plum tomato. And you can taste its exceptional flavor. We are located right in the heart of San Marzano, and since 1983, we have been cooking and packaging our Southern Italian tomatoes here, long before the birth of San Marzano DOP tomatoes!
