OUR FAMILY
The best Italian recipes are not made; they are born from generations of grandmothers’ kitchens, grandfathers’ green thumbs, and smiles around the table. At La San Marzano, we know this because we are a family.
It all began with nonno Antonio and nonna Natalina, who decided to open their Italian kitchen to the world 50 years ago. Their son Papá Felice and his wife Andreana took up the chef’s spoon after them. And now, their grandchildren Antonio, Natalina, and Luigi continue the tradition by honoring the same recipes and preparation techniques passed down for generations.
We prepare every jar of our award-winning sauce as if it were homemade—and in fact, all of our products are still produced in the San Marzano valley that we call home. Our secret cooking method is called 50 Minutes Lento & Stirred, and it is the exact method that nonna Natalina and every other grandmother and mother in our Vesuvian valley use to make simple, flavorful sauces.
Now, our family is much bigger. La San Marzano is home to 250 employees, all of whom are friends, relatives, grandparents, mothers, and fathers. At La San Marzano’s facilities, our employees work side-by-side and pour their passion, friendship, and love into the heart of the Italian tradition: The kitchen.

OUR PRODUCT
All of our products have the qualities unique to our Mediterranean cuisine: we use just a few, simple ingredients from the freshest and most authentic sources. Each ingredient is hand-selected and produced in Italy, and our tomatoes are 100% natural, non-GMO, and processed by the La San Marzano family. Our products never contain additives and preservatives, so you get the same kitchen-fresh flavor in every jar.
We say that our products are timeless. That’s because our recipes are older than memory—passed down from generation to generation.

THE PREPARATION
In Italy, we consider the preparation to be the final ingredient in any dish. This is when we add the finishing touch: Love.
Our cooking method is the oldest in the world, and it’s still treasured by Italian grandmas and mothers throughout San Marzano. It’s called 50 Minutes Lento & Stirred, and it’s practiced every day in every batch of sauce we make.
Each sauce is simmered slowly ("lento," as we say in Italy) over low heat and stir, stir, stirred without stopping. This method celebrates every ingredient and creates the perfect balance of flavors. Rich and warming, yet light and natural—this is what Italian sauce should taste like.
We slow down and take our time on every sauce so you can enjoy the timeless flavor in just 3 minutes. But life is short, so don’t forget to stop and smell the basil now and again.
Every plump tomato, drop of extra virgin olive oil, sprig of basil, wedge of DOP Pecorino or Parmesan cheese, clove of garlic, onion, and chili pepper all come from our home.
Our products are 100% natural and are made with garden-fresh ingredients.
Our sauces are preserved using old-world techniques—never preservatives—and our recipes are the same as those used by our mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers. All are prepared using our 50 Minutes Lento & Stirred method, guaranteeing the rich and balanced flavor of a slow-simmered sauce in every jar.
Thanks to La San Marzano, the antique flavors of Italy can fit into your modern lifestyle.
